Privacy Policy

The privacy of our visitors is of importance to us. We are, first and foremost, interested in being as transparent as possible in regards to your privacy. We hate that some sites hide simple privacy information in a wall of legalese. We don’t want to do that, so if there is something in the following that isn’t clear, please let us know.

The good people at Automattic Inc. have created a really nice CC licenced privacy policy which we’ve adapted for use. This will hopefully make sure we have everything covered.  It is still a lot of information; the ‘long story short’ is that we don’t collect or share your info unless we have a good reason, we do use some third party advertising companies that may do so (but we can’t control that) and, with the exception of your IP, we don’t collect personally identifiable info unless you provide it to us.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, My Grandma’s Recipe Book collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. My Grandma’s Recipe Book’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use its website.

My Grandma’s Recipe Book also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments or using the contact form. My Grandma’s Recipe Book only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to this website may choose to interact with it in ways that require us to gather personally-identifying information. For example, we ask people who comment to provide a name and email address. In each case, My Grandma’s Recipe Book collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the interaction. My Grandma’s Recipe Book does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

My Grandma’s Recipe Book may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. My Grandma’s Recipe Book currently utilises Google Analytics for this purpose.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

My Grandma’s Recipe Book will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone or disclose it to anyone outside of those involved with managing the website,  unless in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when My Grandma’s Recipe Book believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of the site, third parties or the public at large.
